Selecting a Shift Evaluator

When a student chooses a shift evaluator, the initial list includes:

✅ All program instructors (who always have EMCE accounts)

✅ All approved preceptors (indicated by the icon) (may or may not have an account, as indicated by the icon)

Note

Programs may choose to require preceptors to be approved in Organization Options.

• If Approved Preceptors Required is ON, students can only select from this list.

• If Approved Preceptors Required is OFF, students can search the nationwide database or manually add new preceptors if needed.

If the Evaluator Has an EMCE Account (Instructor or Preceptor)

1. The student selects the evaluator from the list.

2. After the shift, the student taps Submit for Verification.

3. The evaluator logs into their own device to complete the evaluation.

If the Evaluator Does NOT Have an EMCE Account (Preceptor Only)

1. The student selects the preceptor, indicated by the icon.

2. If the student manually adds a preceptor, that preceptor will not have an EMCE account by default.

3. After the shift, the student taps Evaluator Review.

4. The preceptor signs off with a digital signature directly on the student’s device.
